Grand Rapids, MN

The first day of filming for The Parish of the Pines production was in November of 2020, in the frigid cold of Northern Minnesota, well over two years after the script was completed.

“The first day of filming is a funny thing. There’s already been so much hoping, planning and praying. You’ve already spent endless hours pouring over budgets, in meetings with lawyers, accountants, investors, location scouting, casting actors, designing and assembling wardrobe, purchasing equipment. Years of hard work have already gone by in preparation for that day. And the impulse to celebrate is well-merited. Man, did we ever celebrate! But the reality is ~that it’s only the first day of the ‘real’ work and you’ve only just begun.”

~Lisa Stendal, co-producer/director of the film.
